The restoration of the Palazzo Margherita L'Aquila is part of the provided works of the post-quake reconstruction at 2009. The project to restore and re-functioning of state, aimed the architectural and functional reconstruction of the building designated as the seat of the City Government (mayor and council) with the realization of the necessary sales for the administrative meetings. The building and State over the subject of numerous centuries re-shaping and the current one dates back to the early '900 with the realization of the third floor while the bulk of transformations is dated around the half of ‘800. With the project, we tried to come to a reorganization of the interior space by eliminating all superfluous that had been introduced of the building in its lifetime. The intervention on distribution have been relevant, eliminating architectural barriers and reaching at a rationalization of distribution flows for users/visitors, separating the areas intended for work of the institutions to those accessible to the public during meetings. Strong has been also the attention to environmental sustainability with the development of highly innovative system solutions on the basis of what would be possible to reduce the energy consumption in a manner so as not to require the significant presence the electric energy transformation cabin.
